2020 ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE
Annual Meeting – Thursday, September 24, 2020 – via ZOOM

5:00 p.m. – Director’s Executive Session (closed to members)
6:00 p.m. – Regular Meeting / Voting Results / Q&A / Discussions (Open to all members)

This year’s Annual Meeting will be a little different than in year’s past. This year, we will be conducting the Annual Meeting virtually through the ZOOM video application.

You should have received an email from Jason Pollard (our President) containing the info for the Zoom meeting.

Introducing MemberPlanet

Not only are we embarking on a new year and a new decade, but your Poplar Creek board is excited about a new change coming to our club – online payments!!

We are currently finalizing a system where you can sign up for tournaments and pay for those tournaments.  This new system is called MemberPlanet.  We previewed this new system to you in our annual meeting in September 2019, but we wanted to give you an update on its progress.

MemberPlanet you ask?  I thought we were using Golf Genius?

We will be using both systems – both endorsed by the NCGA and used by their associate clubs.

Golf Genius is used by our Tournament Director, Michael Bradley, to manage the tournaments from assigning pairings, scoring, posting the results and calculating the season-long points system called the Poplar Cup.  You, the membership, will continue to use Golf Genius to view the tournament results and your progress in the Poplar Cup.

MemberPlanet is where you will register for tournaments, pay for the tournaments and renew your membership.   New members wishing to apply for membership can apply and pay their initiation dues with MemberPlanet.  Payments can be made by credit card or eCheck (funds are taken from your bank account).  Both payment methods use the industry-standard methods of encrypting and securing your information.  

We want to introduce MemberPlanet to you in the coming weeks so you can optionally register for the Beat the Pro! (Feb 22) event with MemberPlanet.  You will still be able to register for the event using the current methods, but at some point thereafter, the only method of registering for an event will be with MemberPlanet.

The process with MemberPlanet is simple:

– You will receive an email inviting you to sign up for an event (or click on a registration link at pcgc.net).
– You will login to your account at MemberPlanet (or create an account if it’s your first time).
– You will then confirm that you will play the event and then make your payment.

We are very excited with this coming change and we are confident that you will be as well.  This is a very good start to 2020 for our club.

Greetings to the members of the Poplar Creek Golf Club,

The Poplar Creek Golf Club Board of Directors hope you and your families had a great holiday season and a Happy New Year.

The board and club members also wish to extend a special thank you to the staff of the golf pro shop and to the staff of the Poplar Creek Grill. A big shout out to Dana Banke and to Adam Light for their continued support.

The Poplar Creek Golf Men’s Golf Club prides itself in being more than just a golf club, as our members are well rounded and diverse. We are also community minded and charitable.

Special thanks to our members who generously contributed monies at our recent club holiday party that allowed us to provide over $2,300 as this year's donation to the San Mateo County Children’s Fund. This fund is dedicated to helping low-income families and foster children who reside within San Mateo County to maintain and improve their quality of life.
